Its been a long time and The Wynn/Encore….
I promise to update regularly. It is Winter/Almost Spring 2009. I plan to get my Vegas fix in the spring season.
One thing I have wanted to do but never got around to, is to visit the Wynn hotel. I heard it is amazing, 5-Star, and I want to go and see if it lives up to its hype.
VIP for free!
If you are in Vegas to get your dance on, and you really want to get hooked up, here is a tip:
Dress nice, even during the day. I am not going to knock anyone’s personal style, this is not my intention.
However, the nicer you are dressed (this does not necessarily mean wearing the shortest skirt. Not at all!), the more of a chance you will have for a promotor to approach you with VIP passes.
If it’s evening already, they may walk you in right away.

Even though it will technically not be Summer in a few days, it is still HOT in Las Vegas. So, my “Hot Fun in the Summertime (in Vegas)” article still applies. Click on weather, or scroll down to see it…
No commentsMore play for your bucks tips
If you are a beginner or frugal, there’s a way to dip your gambling toes in and not have to spend too much money.
Play in the older, or smaller hotels.
And for all you Southern Californians, the excitement can begin when you hit the stateline-You can let the gaming begin here. Primm Valley, Nevada (which is on the border of California and Nevada) has 3 casinos. Buffalo Bill’s, Primm Valley Resort, and Whisky Pete’s. When I went to Buffalo Bills with my friends we got started with the $3 blackjack tables. My friends had never played before, and I was terribly nervous, as I hadn’t gambled in a LONG time.
Beginners, you can hone your chops up here and frugalites, you can get up to 6 plays at a $3 table. More, if you win. There is a less intimidating atmosphere and pace, so good luck and have fun! That’s what it’s all about!
No commentsUpcoming Vegas Trip
I am going to Vegas in October for a very exciting occasion. Yah-hoooo! I love to plan things, although it all usually goes out the window. I will be back with a to-do list of some sorts shortly. P.S. It will be fun, not boring. And I probably will chuck it by the time the trip comes around.
No commentsHot Fun in the Summertime, in Vegas
Just got back from a 4-day trip, and NO one will tell me I need some sun now. Here are some things I suggest to survive the scorching (for real, you can feel it) heat:
1. Light Clothing: Ladies, no one will chide you here for dressing inappropriately. The less clothing you can get away with, the better. Guys, light colors and thin fabrics. Actually, I recommend this for everyone. I know jeans are a staple, but if you plan on casino hopping, even if you do take the monorail-you WILL do some walking. As from what I remember, perspiration+ rough fabrics=NO FUN.
2. 24 pack of Water-Water is a hot commodity in Vegas and expensive. Drop by a supermarket for a good deal. And if you are gambling, flag down a cocktail waitress for your free drink (plus tip!).
3. Sunscreen-This is a given, but don’t forget to pack it and use it. More than once a day please.
4. Eyedrops and Glasses-There are hot Vegas winds, which pick up at night. I recommend an artificial tears/dry eye drop applied as necessary. The first night of my trip, I was miserable because I could barely open my eyes. They felt like they had been sanded. Glasses and sunglasses can also help your eyes from feeling this way. Those people who wear sunglasses at night aren’t trying to be cool after all. They ARE cool.
5.Walk through the casinos-To get to a neighboring casino, why walk outside? Casinos have multiple entrances. Walk through the casino to the entrace/exit your nest destination is on. Also, many casinos lead right into each other. Stay inside as much as possible.
6. Take advantage of your pool-These are some of the best designed pools around. The Luxor Pools at sunset are amazing. Go and you’ll see what I mean (You will have to be a guest or know someone who is). If you aren’t to keen on the kiddies, some casinos have adult-only pools.
It takes a lot of guts to take a trip to Vegas in the summertime, you ability to handle the heat can make or break your enjoyment of it. These tips can help!
